Essex Coffee Co. is an independent coffee shop based in Basildon, Essex, trading from Kiosk 10 at Basildon Market.
Our mission is simple: serve amazing coffee, support local suppliers, and create a coffee experience that is fast, friendly and high quality.
We focus on sourcing the best ingredients possible, prioritising local suppliers and independent producers whenever we can. By working with local businesses, farms and food producers, we help keep money circulating within the Essex community, while giving our customers better quality products with real stories behind them.
Every cup we serve reflects our belief that coffee should be made with care and done properly.
Our roaster
We proudly serve coffee roasted by Freshwell Coffee, an independent Essex coffee roastery. Freshwell specialise in small batch coffee roasting, focusing on quality, consistency and flavour — their approach ensures every batch is carefully roasted to bring out the best characteristics of the beans. Working with a local roaster means our coffee is fresher, more traceable and full of character, while also supporting another independent Essex business.
Supporting local where we can
Supporting local businesses is at the heart of Essex Coffee Co. We actively look for opportunities to work with local producers, farms, suppliers and independent businesses across Essex. When customers buy from us, they're not just supporting our business — they're helping support local roasters, farmers and food producers too.
